Motorola H700 Bluetooth Headset
Motorola employs fifth-generation technology for its H700 headset, and the extensive engineering clearly pays off. The headset is tiny and light; it functions like a dream, especially with Motorola's mobile phones; and it looks good enough to make the average "gadget head" drool.
Motorola's PowerFlip design makes the H700 extremely battery friendly. The headset functions like an extension of the device it's paired with. Like a flip phone, users can answer and hang up calls simply by opening and closing the microphone boom on the H700. The headset's multifunction button works flawlessly and its volume buttons are placed just right. Overall, the headset's design is extremely intuitive.
Designed for anyone, the adjustable, ergonomic earhook with improved back housing allows the headset to be worn on either the left or right ear. You can also easily control the volume or mute your call directly from the H500. This Motorola wireless accessory is compatible with any Bluetooth 1.2 enabled mobile phones or devices that support headset and hands-free profiles.
The H700 sounds better than the average headset and comes with noise-reduction and echo-cancellation technology, but the device could be better in this area. Motorola's ear hook design for the H700 could also use improvement; the headset is not as comfortable to wear as other device's we've reviewed. Finally, the headset's range is poor, plain and simple -- not even close to the 10 meters, or 30 feet, Motorola advertises.
